EVERETT B WALTERS
(a.k.a. - Michael Everett Brown / Harold Walter Brown III)
That’s the name in which the Brown Brothers have chosen to record. This duo from Chicago, implanted in the entertainment capital of Las Vegas, NV. This pair rooted in music, offers a Hip sound of Jazz, Soul, R&B, & Funk which adds refreshing “flava” to the world of smooth entertainment.
Born & raised in Chicago’s south side, the Brown Bros. took the train downtown every Sat. morning for piano lessons. After attending a James Brown Concert, turned their musical interests from piano to Guitars. Their grandmother, the late Anna B. “GRAN” Crockett Ford, a music leader in her own right at the Church of God & Christ instructed the Brown Bros. in the Basics of guitar & drums. Their first performance happened during a talent show in which along with a friend performed, “Just my imagination” and received a standing ovation. Of course, they won the contest, at that moment the Brown Bros. were hooked. Through “Gran’s” nurturing & discipline, the duo continued onto CVS (Chicago Vocational High School),(Mike) were he played Baritone & Tenor Sax/Upright Bass. South Shore H.S. HWBIII, Trumpet, & Electric Bass. In High School, they co-created a band called the “Sweetness of Six”, performing in talent shows, local clubs, outdoor events, YOU Name It…We DID It!!!
Disbanding after 10 years, a new band was formed into “Color Coated Brown” (or C.C.B.) developing into a new style of music at the time referred to as “Smooth Jazz”.
The Brown Bros. wanted to enhance their style& versatility from performing cover songs. Along with a fellow friend, Pete Merriweather, began writing songs. From this collaboration, Everett B. Walters was formed.
Success soon followed the duo. From Jazz FM in the UK which placed one of their songs on a compilation CD entitled, “Very Best of Smooth Jazz”. In addition to the compilation CD, Worldwide Airplay on DMX cable increased the demand to hear more from Everett B. Walters. “IT’S ALL GOOD” IS THE TITLE OF THE
